Our Staff

At Fox Cubs Nursery we understand that the strength of our provision hinges on the competence and expertise of our practitioners. Our rigorous recruitment process means that we appoint only the best qualified, most experienced staff that share and feed our philosophy and ethos.

Key Person

Every child at Fox Cubs Nursery will be allocated a Key Person, this is a named practitioner who has responsibility for a small group of children. The Key Person role is designed to support both children and families responding to the needs of the child as they settle into a new environment.

A Key Person engages with parents in order to:

•Promote a positive relationship between nursery and home.
•Help children settle at nursery offering reassurance and comfort.
•Provide daily feedback to parents.

A Key Person meets children’s needs in order to:

•Plan for each child based on their interests and next steps.
•Incorporate the characteristics of effective early learning when planning.
•Be inclusive – aware of each child’s needs related to their culture, background, any learning disabilities, dietary requirements, and sensitivities. Pass this information to the whole staff team to ensure these needs are met.

Progress Tracking

•All members of the team will collect evidence of a child’s progress as they observe it.
•The Key Person will ensure that a child’s progress and attainment is documented and tracked in the child’s Learning Journey.
